Hospitality at Pelican Point Lodge Hospitality at Pelican Point Lodge Pelican Point Lodgeduring COVID during COVID during COVID-19 Caring for our guests and team has always been our priority. While we have consistently maintained high standards of hygiene at Pelican Point Lodge, we have implemented additional measures in response to Covid-19. These measures are in place to mitigate any potential risks of infection and follow the recommended guidelines from health authorities in order to create a safe environment for guests and staff. SOCIAL DISTANCING SOCIAL DISTANCING With its remote setting on the Pelican Point Peninsula, limited and monitored access and with a total amount of 10 suites, Pelican Point Lodge naturally caters for a limited amount of guests, offering intimacy and exclusivity. We have further taken measurements to ensure social distancing, such as re-arranging furniture in the commonly used spaces such as the restaurant and lounge as well as outside sitting areas. Activities and transfers have been adjusted to cater for two people or guests from the same party. Particular activities have been highlighted accordingly on our rate sheet. GUEST AREAS AND HOUSEKEEPING GUEST AREAS AND HOUSEKEEPING AREAS AND HOUSEKEEPING Buffet breakfast, platters and canapés have been replaced by à la carte breakfast and in-suite dining is available. Snacks during excursions will be sealed in individual portions to avoid open food contact. Guests are encouraged to make use of the hand sanitizers that have been placed throughout the lodge. Housekeeping has implemented a special cleaning procedure with regards to guest rooms and guest areas. Surfaces in guest areas as well as back offices are being frequently wiped down with disinfectant cleaning material. Special attention is being given to cleaning frequently touched items and appliances as well as interiors of vehicles, boats and equipment used for activities and excursions. Laundry and crockery and cutlery are washed at the highest possible temperature to kill any potential viral germs. Space for bookings is limited to allow enough time in between bookings for the suite to be properly cleaned, disinfected and aired out before a new guest arrival. GUEST SAFETY GUEST SAFETY While we understand that guests would like to enjoy a carefree and relaxing time at the lodge, we encourage guests to wear their face masks, especially when in commonly used spaces and when interacting with staff or other guests. Guests will be screened upon arrival, i.e. their temperature will be scanned. For guests whose temperature falls within the normal range and given that they do not show any COVID-19 related symptoms, they will be allowed to proceed to the check-in after sanitizing of hands. For hygienic reasons, guests will currently not be offered a hot or cold towel upon arrival. Guests who show COVID-19 related symptoms such as a dry cough, shortness of breath / breathing difficulties and a fever (temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius) upon arrival will not be able to check in but will have to postpone their stay. If a guest starts showing COVID-19 symptoms during their stay, they will be asked to self-isolate in the privacy of their suite. The manager on duty is to notify the local health authorities and will follow their instructions. HOST SAFETY HOST SAFETY To give our guests peace of mind when being hosted at Pelican Point Lodge, our team has been fully trained on the increased hygiene measurements implemented in prevention of COVID-19 infections. As our staff stays on site they have very little contact with people other than guests or staff colleagues. They are being screened on a daily basis and particularly when coming back from leave. The back of house is treated with the same preventative measurements as guest areas to ensure an overall hygienic environment. Please find further below the COVID-19 testing facilities information chart for your information and perusal. Please note that the information is subject to change without prior notice. Pelican Point Lodge Management and Team would like to thank all our guests and trade partners for their understanding and cooperation.
