The Nantwich Library is a sanctuary for knowledge seekers, here guests can find books on the wildlife, birdlife and history of the area, as well as informative maps and interesting artifacts. It is also the location of enlightening conservation talks led by passionate experts. These interactive sessions are where guests become truly engaged in the raison d’etre of Hwange National Park become inspired to protect the last remaining wild spaces of Africa.
Guests are escorted through the Northern Hwange region in an open game drive vehicle that safely transports them to all the wildlife hotspots. Your guide is an expert in his field and will share his niche knowledge with you while also tailoring your journey to what you are most interested in. We invite you not to just be a passive observer – get involved, ask questions and plan your day ahead with your guide. Game drives are either half-day (in the morning or afternoon), full-day, or in the evening for nocturnal game viewing
Walking Safaris at Nantwich are a special highlight of guests’ stay. The flat plains that Nantwich is known for makes an excellent environment for guided bush walks. The terrain is comfortable to traverse and wildlife is easily viewable. Our expert guides ensure that guests are safe on these walks, while sharing their unique insights about this remote area. The different trails go through various areas such as the rocky hills behind the lodge, some peaceful winding streams, and natural springs that are unique to the area, flat and expansive savanna, and around the large dam that is the main star of our wildlife theatre that the lodge has front row seats to. What is especially delightful is the Bush Walk to Breakfast. Guests are led on a guided walk to an alfresco area where a delicious breakfast is waiting for him. Here they will take part in a bespoke morning brew experience, selecting their own coffee beans to hand grind and then enjoy in their freshly brewed morning java. There’s nothing quite like savouring an incredibly well-deserved cup of coffee while letting the peace and beauty of the African bush in the morning wash over you.

• All reservations must be received in writing by email.
• All reservations are subject to availability, and if necessary, rooms will be put on a waiting list on a first come first serve basis.
• All provisional reservations and requests are held for 14 days only, before we require a 20% non-refundable deposit to confirm the reservation, otherwise the booking will expire and be released from our reservation system.
• The lodge requires a final rooming list 30 days prior to guests’ arrival.
• Special dietary requirements to our reservations department at least 30 days prior to arrival date.
• The validity of the rates is as per the rate sheets herewith.
Check-in and Check-out
• Check-in time is as from 14h00 on the day of arrival, and check-out is 10h00 on the day of departure.
• A late check-out can be arranged with prior approval of management of the lodge and is subject to the availability of rooms.
• Should an early check-in be required, this must be organized directly with the lodge concerned and will be subject to the availability of rooms.
Terms of Payment
• A non-refundable deposit amounting to 20% of the total value of the booking is payable within 14 days of confirming the reservation.
• Full pre-payment to be received 30 days prior to travel. If payment has not been received, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation and our cancellation policy will apply.
• No guest may travel unless we have received full pre-payment.
• A 5% surcharge will be levied for any / all payments made by credit card.
• In the event where the reservation is made less than 30 days before arrival, such reservation must be paid immediately upon presentation of invoice.
• Upon payment, a proof of payment with lodge name and invoice number must be submitted to our central reservations (info@hideawaysafrica.com).
Cancellation / Amendment Policy
• Only written cancellations / amendments will be accepted.
• Kindly ensure that acknowledgments of cancellations/amendments are received by reservations. A reservation will be considered amended / cancelled only once reconfirmed by reservations to the agent /client concerned.
• Should a cancellation be received once a confirmed status is held, 20% of the contracted rate will be charged.
• Cancellation within 60 – 31 days prior to date of travel will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
• Cancellation within 30 – 15 days prior to date of travel will incur a 75% cancellation fee.
• Cancellation within 14 days prior to date of travel or less will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
• No refunds will be made for no shows or any unused services due to flight delays, strikes or anything else beyond the control of Hideaways.
Liability
• Hideaways cannot be held liable for any injury, loss of life or damage of any valuables.
• Guests will be asked to sign an indemnity form on arrival at the lodge.
• Guests will be asked to sign a form that confirms that they received their safety briefing.
Terms and Conditions
• Rates are quoted in USD per person.
• Hideaways reserves the right to amend the quoted tariffs should there be any change in the percentage rate of VAT or any other levy, tax or impost becoming payable by the lodges.
