Zululand Lodge is located +/-20km north of the town of Hluhluwe, in northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, off the R22 between Hluhluwe and Sodwana. On a private conservancy on the Msinene River bordering Munyawane Game Reserve.
The lodge is accessible by sedan car on +/-5km gravel road.
Access to the conservancy is by appointment only, please phone the lodge manager 063 697 6116 for gate access.
Travel out of Hluhluwe on the R22 to Sodwana.
+/-15km from railway crossing turn off the R22 onto P476 @ Zulu Croc tent (signboard towards Zulu Nyala and Heritage Safari Lodge.)
After 400m turn right at Umzinene farm road.
After 600m road splits take left fork (just after the pond on right).
This will take you between 2 game fences and end at a solar powered gate.
Phone the lodge from there (they can open the gate remotely).
Drive striaght along this road to a big tree in the middle of the road and shed on right.
Follow Rd left at the big tree.
At T junction turn right around the front of the farm house then on turn left down hill away from farm house. Approximately 150 m turn right and follow main track to camp.
Standard locally guided bush walks give you the opportunity to observe the abundant birdlife along the Msinene River and try spot some of the plains game that roam free on our reserve - including the shy Nyala antelope. Alternatively you can take a short drive to one of the nearby Big 5 Game Reserves for a more adventurous experience.

We have a very special activity on our reserve. A guided giraffe walk. We spend our walk tracking the giraffe on our reserve with opportunties to get close to these tall beautiful animals. ±1h30 R450 per person including VAT. Minimum 2 guests, depart from the lodge.

Minimum 4 guests for private vehicle, or join another group if seats available. Breakfast or lunch available at additional cost. Zululand Lodge guests will need to self-drive to Memorial gate, and meet the game drive guide at the designated time.
01 Nov 2022 to 31 Oct 2023: 3 hour game drive R564 per person or 6 hour game drive R857 per person + R260pp international visitor / + R130pp South African visitor conservation levy (at time of printing).
Zululand Lodge will provide packed breakfast or clients can book cooked breakfast R282pp, light lunch R328pp or braai lunch R345pp.
All reservations must be made in writing by email. A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to confirm a booking,
unless by prior written agreement. Balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. All reservations will be treated as provisional until deposit received. Should another enquiry come in for the same date, then you will be given the opportunity to pay deposit within 5 working days. Failing which preference will be given to the new booking.
Cancellations must be made in writing by email.
> 60 days prior to arrival - 20% cancellation fees
59 – 15 days prior to arrival - 75% cancellation fees
14 – 0 days prior to arrival - 90% cancellation fees
Payment must be made by bank transfer to the account details on the invoice. The lodge is a cash free establishment, EFT payment only (at this stage). Please ensure that sender pays for all bank transfer charges. Should we not receive full amount as per invoice, then the balance will be considered outstanding and still due for payment.
