Waterberry Zambezi Lodge

The first impression, after driving down the sandy road to reach us, is of rich green foliage, colourful flower borders and rolling lawns with thatched cottages scattered around the gardens.  Then, looking through the open main lodge building with lounge, restaurant, and sun decks the Zambezi flows past with a vast wild national park on the opposite bank.

The main lodge building has a large and airy upstairs viewing lounge overlooking the river, inside and outside dining space and sociable lounging furniture on tiered decks.  This is the central meeting place for guests – for briefings, for meals (although guests can choose to eat on their own verandas) and for swapping stories over drinks around the fire pit. 

​We’ve private areas all over the lovely grounds – you can sit on the river deck, seek shade in our upstairs lounge, watch birds from the raised platform by the dam or catch a nap on a lounger by the pool. You can be as private as you like but always within reach of your watchful team who will cater for your every need.

Our cottages are all different, colourful and stylish, all perfectly adapted to your needs – whether you want to sit and watch the river go by, or relax on your own veranda with a good book or a pair of binoculars. Or just sleep off your journey in our beautiful comfortable beds made by the brilliant Ngoma.

Live the life of luxury in your own private riverside house where nothing is too much trouble for the dedicated household team.  Whether it’s handing you a gin and tonic while you float in the crystal-clear infinity pool watching elephants playing on the other side of the river, or bringing you breakfast in bed because it’s too comfortable to get up (and you can see the view from there anyway) the entire aim is to help you have the holiday of a lifetime. Not forgetting, of course, that you definitely need spoiling after all that hard work on safari!

With three en suite bedrooms and one two-bedroom suite, River Farmhouse sleeps 8 – 10.

​The long glass doors in the central lounge fold back, opening up onto a large, shady veranda with lounging and dining areas – perfect for outdoor living and with enough space to escape from one another for a bit of peace and quiet.

​In the kitchen off the central lounge chefs prepare meals, to suit your diet and timetable – while household staff are on hand to cater for your every need.

​The gardens are a stunning part of the Farmhouse experience – lawns, trees, flower borders and, above all, a beautiful infinity pool where you can cool off, exercise, or just laze on a sun lounger.

On arrival your Farmhouse host will help you plan your stay, to make sure you have enough time to enjoy this fantastic place while still enjoying all that the Victoria Falls experience has to offer.

​Your home from home has a team of chefs and waiters to look after you throughout your stay. Housekeepers will provide morning cleaning and night time turndown and our garden team cares for the garden and infinity pool.

​Your dedicated guide will escort you to Victoria Falls and your other chosen activities in a private vehicle and boat.

A little woodland camp, where impala and bushbuck graze and birds drink at the waterholes. This is a wild space where you sit around the evening fire listening to the sounds of nature.   And you don’t leave your tent at night in case you inadvertently meet Mr Hippo grazing your personal lawn - you just wake up in the morning and look out and think was he really so close?.  Imagine!

We are privileged to have wild woodlands where an abundant supply of water attracts birds and small mammals.  Impala and bushbuck graze here, and a wide variety of birds find safety for feeding, drinking, nesting.

We created The Woodlands for birders who want peace and quiet to sit among the trees and observe, but it’s proved so popular that we have opened it to those wanting that special wilderness feeling without sacrificing comfort and luxury.

Guests have the service of a butler/groundsman/guard 24/7.  Breakfast is served on the Woodlands lounge veranda where you can also keep cool in the heat of the day, invite friends made at the lodge for a surprise drink, or just sit and watch the birds go by.   

​The Waterberry restaurant, sun decks and swimming pool, all used by Woodlanders, are a short walk down sandy paths.

Our  tents are hugely popular with guests loving the wild experience, but also loving the luxury furnishings, the fully fitted dressing rooms and en suite bathrooms and the private verandas surrounded by individual gardens.

​Tents are double or twin, with seating inside and out and plenty of storage for

clothes and luggage.  This super little hideaway is perfect for relaxing and is also available for exclusive use.
